Artful guitar music in DAC's upstairs Main Gallery from 6:30 - 8:00pm for the opening reception and award ceremony of the Hawaii Craftmen's FIBER HAWAIʻI 2026 show.
This biennial juried exhibition showcases diverse interpretations of fiber art, from traditional weaving, quilting, and shibori to ceramic, glass, and mixed media works inspired by a "fiber sensibility." The juror this year is Marques Hanalei Marzan, a celebrated Hawaiian fiber artist and Cultural Advisor at the Bishop Museum, whose work bridges indigenous traditions with contemporary innovation.

At 4pm the HTMC event workshop begins: "Wilderness Scene Safety and Stop the Bleed Certification" - a 2 hour Stop the Bleed workshop presented by Oahu Search and Rescue (OSAR). Learn the basics of establishing a safe scene when coming upon a medical issue in the wilderness, as well as how to tackle the most critical of injuries, and stop the bleed.

The art features large, genre-defying and boundary-pushing artwork by just 5 renowned Hawaii artists, two of whom have passed away: Fred Roster, Pat Hickman, Allyn Bromley, Sally French, and Linda Kane.
